The 4x4 market has been one of the fastest growing sectors over the last few years, with most manufacturers now offering a four-wheel drive option. The established models like Land Rover Range Rover & Discovery, Mitsubishi Shogun, Mercedes G Class & ML and Toyota Land Cruiser must now compete with the BMW X5 and X3 and even Porsche Cayenne to satisfy demand. These vehicles have been popular fleet vehicles and lend themselves to Contract hire very well; and with all the recent concern over C02 output, most four-wheel drive users carry little risk over resale values. The recent production and popularity of the smaller urban sports utility vehicles (SUV’s) such as the Nissan Qashqai X-Trail, Honda CRV, Toyota Rav 4 Ford Kuga means that we will not be seeing a reduction of these cars on the roads just yet.
