To date UK Carline have offset 184.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide through their carbon leasing, in addition to their company offset of 14.38; so 198.8 so far.The 184.4 figure is for only two months, so you can predict that well over 1,100 tonnes will be offset over the course of a year. To put this into content, offsetting 1,100 tonnes of carbon dioxide is the equivalent of:
- flying from London to New York to back 421 times
- a medium sized petrol car driving for 3.2 million miles...
- which is like driving around the earth 128 times
The 199 tonnes offset so far means that 13 stoves will be built for Kenyan families this month, helping them to cook cleaner, quicker and easy. The projected 1,100 tonnes (and this is a conservative estimate) will mean that 73 stoves will be built - so basically building stoves for an entire village.
