Surviving the "Big Chill"

I suppose I should apologise if I offend anyone with this rant as the weather is severe in some area's but can we please, please, please just get on with it. This is a nation that suffered the blitz for god's sake. The mention of the word "chaos" makes me laugh. I tried to operate my business yesterday but it was very difficult as car dealers were going home, many of our suppliers and partners were on skeleton staff so the country is slowly grinding to a halt. I watched breakfast news with the roaming reporter out there braving the "coldest weather in years". He was stood by the side of a perfectly gritted road and talked of the "chaos" on the roads. During this report a car passed him traveling at 40-50 MPH without a problem. So what was he talking about......... these are the same reporters who aided talking this country into recession by sensationalising their reports of peoples hardship as the economy slowed, but everyone is bored of the economic doom now, so we must want to hear about the doom the weather is causing. Media........ Phah! ( in the morning give us something to smile about please! we would all enjoy it more im sure. )

I would normally get on the back of the heath and safety people for making employers being scared of litigation if we try and get our workforce to actually do any work in these conditions. I employ people who live in the south lakes, and the other side of Preston who have come to work without accident or complaint, so i just think it is a bit of positive mental approach we all need to adopt.

So surviving the cold, requires the desire to do so, the roads are probably far better than you think, the sun is shinning and the country does look beautiful. Lets get out there and get some work done.

P.S. dont mention the teachers! rrrrrrrrrr

Rant over, happy new year.
