Will Sat Nav be banned?

Shell, which has a fleet of over 14000 cars worldwide has told its prefered manufacturers that it requires alkl of its sat nav systems to disable the screen whilst the car is in use. After a recent report from the RAC it was revealed that in car navigation systems were a major cause of distraction to drivers. The benefits that the systems give are recognised but the health and saftey concerns are also to be considered. Such is the size of the shell fleet that the manufacturers are trying to see how they can help with this request. Does this look like the way things will go for in car telematics?
